The thing about being a food lover is you want to eat everything! You can’t make something and not eat it, it just doesn’t happen! Well I know I can’t anyway (I would be very beachball shaped if I was a chef). So I have started substituting meals, usually breakfast, with a healthy smoothie. They’re great to start the day with and they’re ridiculously tasty.
I usually cut out all dairy and sweeteners as the whole point of the smoothie for me is to be as healthy and as natural as possible. If I wanted a sugar hit I would just make a chocolate milkshake. And seriously, you don’t need sugar or milk in a fruit smoothie as they’re tasty enough as they are.
Pretty much all the smoothies I make have at least one banana in them. They mix so well with almost anything.
Easy, tasty and healthy, but not always cheap! I would like to grow my own blueberries but I just don’t have the room.
- 2 smallish Bananas
- 1 Kiwifruit
- 1/2 cup of Blueberries
- 1/2 cup of Strawberries
- 1 cup of Baby Spinach Leaves
- 1/2 cup Filtered Water
- 5 Ice Cubes
- Wash and peel all of the fruits. Cut the larger fruits into smaller pieces and place them all in the blender.
- The water is mostly to get the ingredients spinning around, otherwise not much at all happens when you turn the blender on. Blend for a minute or two until all the ingredients are well mixed and are smooth enough to drink.
Oooh great recipe! Must try 🙂
Thanks Miss Sage. It’s super tasty and healthy. I change it up a little each time I make it just to keep things interesting 🙂
